GUEST BLOG BY Stefania from Modena, Italy
Hi everybody, my name is Stefania and you can also find me on @mymodenadiary, my destination blog about my beautiful city, Modena. Modena is located in the Emilia-Romagna region, in Italy. Have you ever been there? Have you ever heard about Ferrari, Balsamic Vinegar, Lambrusco Wine, and Pavarotti? Well, Modena is the hometown of these “excellences”!
I want to share with you 10 perfect hotspots in Modena you have to go for a coffee (and sometimes much more) if you come to visit the center of my city. I hope you will enjoy my suggestions!
MON CAFÈ – Modena
Mon Cafè is surely one of my favorite places in the city. The atmosphere here is absolutely cozy and charming: I love its shabby-chic furniture and details! The owners have thought it as a place where people can meet each other and relax from the morning to the night hours. You can have here your authentic Italian breakfast and drink your coffee or cappuccino but also choose this place for your lunches and dinners. The cocktails are superlatives and foods really good.

Famous for its coffee blends, this Café will conquer you especially for its design: on its walls are painted big famous faces and quotes that seem to talk to you 😉 Menomoka it’s perfect for having your breakfast but also for your Italian “aperitivo”.

SPACCIO DELLE CARCERI
“Spaccio delle carceri” (literally the “Prison’s outlet”), takes its name because is located in front of the old town prisons and because it was created inside the old shop area, where in the past were sold soaps and various trinkets. Once inside you are immediately dipped into the “prison theme”… the symbol of the detention everywhere but these are really cool prisons 🙂 The atmosphere is really trendy and creative. You can go there from breakfast to dinner and also after dinner. The breakfast in the morning is superb!

It’s a lovely place where you can have the classic Modenese breakfast. Here, in Modena, we love to have our breakfast eating fried dumplings, called “gnocco fritto”, and drinking a cappuccino. It’s not a light breakfast, but it’s really characteristic. This Café is really in Vogue also during the aperitif time and has a pleasant decor.
