10 Perfect (Instagram-proof) hotspots in Rotterdam

After following my heart from Australia to Holland in 2013, I set up home in one of the prettiest parts of Rotterdam with my Dutchman and adopted pup, Ringo. Last update: June 2019!

10 Perfect hotspots for spending the day in Rotterdam.

I’m a baker, screen-printer and treasure hunter who owes my love for baking to my two beautiful Grandmothers, Kit & Nancy whose recipes are still used and treasured. My creative work is greatly influenced by vintage florals and a pretty pastel palette. My background is in creative arts and I’m a self-taught baker with a soft spot for salted caramel buttercream.

Croos Rotterdam

Did you know, Eliane used to live for over 9 years in Crooswijk? Back in the days, they didn’t had hotspots in that area. So happy things are changing for the best and Croos is the living proof!

Coppi- you can’t fault a place that has lemon bars on the menu. A newly discovered, pastel and bike filled haven is the perfect Rotterdam north getaway for a slow drip coffee and homemade treat. Breakfasts include an aussie favourite of avocado and bacon on toast and their super friendly staff paired with their fine choice of vintage decoration has made Coppi my new favourite.

Picknick- has been a favourite since the first time I visited Rotterdam in 2012. My best friend used to live in the apartment above and visit them daily for her coffee and scone fix. My love affair is still going strong 5 years later with their ‘sweety sweets’ aka homemade snickers bar and their breakfast platters being the best in town. Their homemade sausage rolls and cosy vibe keep me coming back for more. (@picknickrotterdam)

Planning a citytrip to Dublin? Check out these hotspots!

Parqiet – This hidden gem in Het Park is a real treat, especially in summer. Located in a beautiful pavilion overlooking the park it boasts famous treats (in my opinion) such as the Sprinkles Bakery cheesecake brownie and apple pie with a view. It’s the perfect place for a wintery girly catchup or an icy aussie ginger beer and sunbathe in the summer.

Ever been to Modena? Check out these amazing hotspots!

Posse – the boy and I were sipping coffee, eating donuts and admiring the vintage interior of Posse long before the Fenix Food Factory arrived in Katendrecht. Now the area boasts some great cafes and restaurants and people are slowing venturing south for some artisan baked goods and locally brewed beer. Owned by a fashion photographer with a love for design and the preloved object, Posse feels like you’re dining in a museum for the weird and wonderfully designed. Most of these vintage artifacts can be purchased and I still dream of renting out the space for a future post wedding party.

Lof der Zoetheid

Lof der Zoetheid – Owned by a super talented mother and daughter duo, these ladies know how to bake, cook and decorate their space. Treats like the Princess Leia buns, giant chocolate chip cookie and a variety of festive treats make LDZ the most creative and well known in town. Their menu is always changing (in the best way possible) and the high teas are the perfect afternoon indulgence when choosing just one treat seems impossible.

Man met Bril

Yet another perfect hotspot in Rotterdam, serving some perfect coffee. This whole area is vibrant and filled with creative people. Make sure to stick around after the coffee in this area.

Buiten – a breath of fresh air on the busy Nieuwe Binnenweg that offers delicious homemade soups, scones and freshly made deli style salads. You can pick up some locally grown vegetables, honey or a recipe book whilst you’re there which makes Buiten your one stop bio shop.

Keet – A concept store/pop up/waffle shop that will keep your creative mind AND stomach satisfied. Situated just off of the Meent, Keet is a delicious distraction from the busy city and a great place to meet friends for lunch and a wander. The banana bread and granola waffle (courtesy of waffle king @dezmondg) are too good to pass up!

Espresso Bar Boijmans (NOTE Boijmans is closed from May 2019-2026! )

Espresso Bar Boijmans – This hidden gem is soaked in natural light, colorful wall art and fresh blooms. The perfect place to grab a quiet coffee before heading into the gallery. A bright and inspiring space to get some work done too accompanied by a slice of cheesecake to keep you motivated!

•HOTSPOT• Today I will again show you a hotspot in Rotterdam. This time it's @lilithrotterdam turn! This is a breakfast bar famous for its pancakes. Their interior design is amazing and some of the drinks are served in a glass skull. If you plan on going there during the weekend be prepared to stand in line to get a table. Today I will be spending the day in Amsterdam with my students, visiting the @eye_film and walking around the city centre☺ What are your plans? • ° @thebrunettepassport #thebrunettepassport #friday #hotspotfriday #rotterdam #thenetherlands #holland #instagrammable #lunchroom #lunchspot #cafe #restaurant #hotspotrotterdam #wheretoeat #eteninrotterdam #rotterdamgo #food #foodies #foodiesrotterdam #rotterdamfood #rotterdamcity #rotterdam_info #010 #rottergram #visitrotterdam #loverotterdam #interior #interiorstyling

Lilith – The fluffy Martha Stewart style pancakes and fun lighting features outweigh the fact that you’ll always have to wait for a table. The grungier sister café of the charming Charlie’s Kitchen, Lilith and its eggs benedict brekkie served from 7am is a winning combination to me.
